The Role
This generalist role provides deep insights into fundraising, strategy, and operations of an early-stage industrial tech startup. You will be working directly with the founders, where you manage tasks across market validation, investor data-room, OKRs and Agile product development, and go-to-market execution. You support the founders in their daily business to help Manukai scale faster. Your work will be enabling the founding team to focus on product, customers, and the team. While doing so, you will be encouraged to experiment with the latest enterprise AI tools.
About You

Responsibilities
- Be the operational backbone: keep processes, tools, and communication organized so the team can move quickly without losing clarity.
- Run market deep dives, partner analyses, and document the commercial strategy
- Scout event opportunities and organize the trips
- Prepare investor materials and the data room
- Coordinate outreach, meetings, and follow-ups
- Setup, evaluate, and improve AI tools to automate tasks throughout our operations (documentation, onboarding, etc.)
- Manage the data foundation (cloud storage, project management tool, and CRM)
Required Skills
- Pursuing or obtained a higher-education degree (ZHAW, UZH,FHNW, ETH, or equivalent) OR 3+ years of professional experience in business operations and startups
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Background and understanding of manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to effectively leverage AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and strong interest in AI workflow automation tools (N8N, Clay, Zapier, etc.)
- Comfortable learning and using enterprise software (HubSpot, Jira, M365, etc.)
- Fluent in German and English
Advantageous, but not essential:
- Experience with venture capital and/or in deep tech startups
- Apprenticeship in a quantitative field (polymechanics, automation, design engineer); OR deep exposure to technology
- Experience in CNC machining technologies such as machines and machining processes, controllers, CAM, and simulation software.
- Exposure to grant writing or deep exposure to the startup ecosystem
- Experience with programming in languages such as Python

The Role
You design, develop, and continuously improve Manukai’s solution. You will be responsible for driving architectural direction and implementing system integrations. You will closely work with the CTO and the engineering team to create highly operable, scalable, and maintainable products. Along this, you will troubleshoot and optimize data flows between services. As an early hire of Manukai, you will become a key member of our startup. We anticipate your proactive contribution of innovative ideas to shape our product and company.

– Lead the integration of Manukai’s software into external systems

– Deep dive into problems to find and create efficient solutions
– Maintain good software quality and sustainable development. Review code developed by other team members and you provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., – testability, efficiency, and style)
– Document architecture and integration processes
Tech Stack

Required Skills
– Advanced Degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative field, or with significant professional experience building complex software systems in lieu of a degree
– Strong experience in software engineering, with solid exposure to back-end development and systems integration (experience integrating software into CAD/CAM platforms is highly valued).
– Advanced knowledge of C# .NET and Python
– Strong software design and agile development skills
– Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems
– Experience designing or maintaining data interfaces between applications and relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
– Good understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment and monitoring

– Experience in CNC machining technologies such as machines and machining processes, controllers, CAD, CAM, and simulation software.

– Develop a pipeline for feature detection algorithms and similarity search on 3D objects
– Implement state-of-the-art sequence-to-sequence modeling methods
– Create an optimization pipeline leveraging Manukai’s state-of-the-art algorithms
– Maintain good software quality and sustainable development. Review code developed by other team members and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., accuracy, testability, efficiency, and style)
Required Skills
– Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative field
– Proficiency with machine learning algorithms and tools (preferably in Python, e.g., Tensorflow or PyTorch)
– Knowledge of state-of-the-art deep learning methods like GNNs, CNNs, Transformers, Image Processing and Segmentation
– Experience in software development in a team
Advantageous:
– Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC machining technology
